Job summary

Whole Life is seeking compassionate Direct Support Professionals to provide person-centered care for adults with developmental and intellectual disabilities in Connecticut. DSPs help with daily living activities, promote independence, and encourage community integration while building trusting relationships with clients and families.

Qualifications

• Must have a High School diploma or GED.
• Must provide proof of valid driver’s license and identity documents.
• Must pass a background check, safe driving record, and abuse registry check; fitness and TB tests after hire.
• Physically able to stand/move and lift up to 100 lbs as required.
• Must document and communicate care in English, verbally and in writing.

Responsibilities

• Assist with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting and meal prep.
• Administer medications, monitor vital signs, and support medical appointments as needed.
• Maintain a clean, safe living environment through light housekeeping and laundry.
• Engage clients in social activities and community outings to promote independence.
• Use mobility equipment safely and document daily activities, observations, and incidents.
• Maintain client confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA.
