Job summary

Help At Home is seeking caring Direct Support Professionals to support individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in their homes and communities in Booneville, MS. The role focuses on teaching daily living skills, encouraging independence, and fostering participation in community activities while upholding dignity and self-advocacy.

As a DSP, you will provide one-on-one assistance, help individuals pursue personal goals, and maintain documentation of progress.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Successful completion of a background check and required training.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation with proof of insurance.

Responsibilities

• Help individuals develop daily living skills, including cooking, cleaning, grooming, hygiene, and other personal care activities.
• Provide hands-on assistance based on individual needs while encouraging independence.
• Provide transportation and support participation in shopping, social events, and community activities.
• Help individuals work toward personal goals and recognize their progress.
• Promote personal choice, independence, and self-advocacy.
• Maintain accurate documentation of care, activities, and progress.
• Communicate with team members to ensure consistent, quality support.
