Job summary

YAI is seeking Direct Support Professionals in Flatbush (South), Brooklyn to support individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in various settings, including homes, day habilitation centers, and community activities.

Position offers full-time/part-time options with morning, evening, and overnight shifts. Training provided to ensure compliance with OPWDD and HIPAA guidelines, and growth opportunities within a supportive team.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Able to meet physical demands including lifting up to 25 pounds.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings/weekends.
• Commitment to obtaining required certifications (SCIP-R, AMAP, CPR, etc.) within 1 year.
• Familiar with Workday and related systems.

Responsibilities

• Assist individuals to maximize strengths and maintain personal rights.
• Provide emotional support and build positive relationships.
• Ensure safety and supervision following program guidelines and plans.
• Assist with personal care and activities of daily living as needed.
• Maintain documentation and data in electronic health records.
• Participate in teamwork and attend team meetings.
