Job summary

Aspire Living & Learning is seeking a Direct Support Professional (DSP) to provide direct support to individuals with developmental disabilities in a residential setting in North Haven, CT. Per diem schedule with starting pay of $18.35 per hour, increasing with medication certification.

Responsibilities include assisting with daily activities, chores, meals, recreation, learning, and fitness, while promoting independence and person-centered planning.

Qualifications

• Experience working with individuals with disabilities in a professional setting preferred.
• Basic computer skills; Therap software a plus.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Empathy, enthusiasm and dedication to helping others.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Valid driver's license with at least 3 years of driving experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct support to individuals with developmental disabilities in a residential setting.
• Assist with daily activities including household chores, meal preparation, recreational, learning, and fitness activities.
• Represent the needs, wants, and interests of individuals served and provide input on program planning and implementation.
