Job summary

Whole Life in Connecticut seeks compassionate Direct Support Professionals to provide person-centered care to individuals with developmental, intellectual, and/or physical disabilities in a residential setting. DSPs help with daily living activities, promote independence, and support community integration.

We focus on safety, dignity, and well-being, enabling clients to lead meaningful lives while collaborating with managers, providers, and families to implement personalized care plans.

Qualifications

• Proof of High School diploma, transcripts, or GED equivalent.
• Proof of valid driver's license and identification documents.
• Ability to pass background checks, safe driving record, and Abuse Registry Check.
• Must be able to document care in English and communicate with clients and co-workers verbally and in writing.

Responsibilities

• Assist with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs): bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and meal preparation.
• Administer medications, monitor vital signs, and support medical appointments.
• Ensure a clean, safe living environment through light housekeeping and laundry.
• Engage clients in social activities, community outings, and promote independence.
• Use mobility equipment with proper techniques and safety.
