Job summary

Aspire Living & Learning in Harford County, Maryland is seeking a Direct Support Professional (DSP) to provide compassionate, hands-on support to individuals with developmental disabilities. You will assist with daily activities, household tasks, meals, recreation, learning activities, and transportation when needed, while promoting independence and person-centered planning.

Rate of pay is $18.20 per hour; Aspire offers a comprehensive benefits package and a collaborative, inclusive team

Qualifications

• Experience with individuals with disabilities in a professional setting preferred.
• Basic computer skills; Therap experience is a plus.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Empathy, enthusiasm and a passion for helping others.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• In some locations, a valid US driver’s license and auto insurance may be required, with at least 3 years of driving experience.
• Access to reliable transportation may require using a personal vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct support with daily activities, including household chores, meal preparation, recreational activities, learning activities, and physical fitness activities.
• Assist individuals with transportation to community activities and build life skills when needed.
• Represent the needs, wants, and interests of individuals served and input on program planning and implementation.
