Job summary

COMMUNITY WORKSHOP & TRAINING in Illinois is seeking a Direct Support Person to provide training and supervision for residents with disabilities. You will help residents achieve Discovery Plan goals, assist with daily living skills, hygiene, meals, and mobility, and ensure a clean, safe home-like environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 18 years of age.
• Valid driver’s license and current auto insurance (if shift requires).
• Experience working with adults with disabilities helpful.
• Must complete DSP classes and pass, maintain Medication Administration authorization.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with Discovery Plan goals and daily activities.
• Assist with personal hygiene and self-care tasks.
• Change and wash linens, help with laundry.
• Participate in activities and transportation for residents.
• Assist with mobility and meals.
• Keep bedrooms and bathrooms clean and safe.
• Teach daily living skills like cooking, cleaning and shopping.
• Perform daily facility cleaning, laundry, bed checks and temperature checks as required.
• Administer medications as directed and document accurately.
• Complete required paperwork
• Attend required trainings.
