Job summary
The Association For Individual Development (AID) in Illinois seeks a Direct Support Professional to help individuals with developmental, intellectual, mental health, and physical challenges live with dignity and independence. You will implement individualized strategies, document services, assist with daily living activities, meals, personal care, and transportation, while ensuring safety and rights.
Evening, weekend, and overnight shifts are part of the schedule.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- CNA or Autism Certificate preferred.
- Experience working with developmentally disabled adults preferred.
- Valid Illinois driver’s license required.
- Must be able to lift/move clients and support safety.
Responsibilities
- Implement individualized plans and document services.
- Maintain client rights, dignity, and privacy.
- Assist with meals, toileting, bathing, and daily living tasks.
- Provide transportation to appointments and activities.
- Attend trainings, meetings, and documentation.
- Maintain a clean and safe living environment.
