Job summary

New Purpose is seeking a Direct Support Professional to provide compassionate, person-centered support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in homes and communities.

You will assist with daily living activities, personal care, skill development, and community involvement, while promoting independence, dignity, safety, and choice. This is a part-time role with paid training and opportunities for advancement.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Valid driver\'s license.
• Ability to pass required background screenings and training requirements.
• Ability to lift up to 25 pounds and assist with mobility needs as required.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, or holidays as needed.

Responsibilities

• Assist individuals with daily living activities and personal care.
• Support personal goals, independence, and life skill development.
• Encourage participation in community and social activities.
• Provide companionship, encouragement, and emotional support.
• Help with meals, housekeeping, and maintaining a safe environment.
• Support medication routines and healthcare appointments as directed.
• Complete daily documentation and follow support plans.
• Protect the rights, dignity, and well-being of those served while following agency policies.
