Job summary

Whole Life in Trumbull, CT is seeking Direct Support Professionals to provide person-centered care for adults with developmental and intellectual disabilities. You will help with daily living activities, promote independence, and support community integration.

The role involves building trusting relationships, ensuring safety, and assisting in daily tasks while collaborating with families and managers to follow individualized care plans. Training and certification opportunities are provided.

Qualifications

• Proof of High School diploma/ GED equivalent.
• Proof of valid driver's license, social security card, birth certificate, or passport.
• Must be able to pass background checks and a TB test within 30 days of hire.
• Must be able to stand, move, and lift up to 100 lbs unassisted on occasion.
• Must document care in English and communicate in English with clients and coworkers.

Responsibilities

• Assist with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs): bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and meal prep.
• Administer medications, monitor vital signs, and support medical appointments.
• Maintain a clean, safe living environment through light housekeeping and laundry.
• Engage clients in social activities and community outings to promote independence.
• Use mobility equipment with proper technique and document observations accurately.
• Maintain confidentiality per HIPAA and implement individualized care plans.
