Job summary

YAI - Seeing beyond disability is hiring Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to work with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. DSPs may support in homes, day centers, YAI residences, or community settings, guided by person-centered plans and safety protocols.

Positions vary (full-time/part-time) with morning, evening and overnight shifts. Training and certifications are provided; a compassionate, patient approach is required to build positive relationships and promote

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Ability to meet essential physical demands (walking, standing, lifting up to 25 pounds).
• Strong communication and patience when supporting individuals with I/DD.

Responsibilities

• Assist individuals in maximizing strengths, interests and abilities.
• Provide personal care and support ADLs (bathing, dressing, toileting) as needed.
• Monitor health, safety and behavior; document and report changes to leadership.
• Support in cooking, cleaning, transportation and community activities according to plans.
