Job summary

Easterseals PORT Health is seeking a Direct Support Professional (DSP) to assist individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities and mental health challenges in home and community settings across North Carolina. You will help with daily living tasks, maintain schedules, and support social engagement under person-centered plans.

The role requires a high school diploma, willingness to complete required trainings, and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• High School diploma is required.
• 1 year of direct care experience, personal care and/or CNA experience preferred.
• Must complete and maintain training curriculum (CPR/First Aid, Crisis Intervention Techniques, Medication Administration, OSHA/Bloodborne Pathogen, Seizure Management, core trainings).

Responsibilities

• Provide care in the home of the individual and the community they live in.
• Assist with housekeeping, meal preparation, cooking, cleaning; personal care; employment support.
• Transport the client to appointments and run errands; help plan and organize their schedule.
• Daily documentation and reporting in the electronic health system of record.
