Qualifications

• Certified Direct Support Professional (DSP) certification or ability to obtain.
• Medication administration knowledge or credential.
• IL driver’s license and clean driving record required.
• 21 years of age or older.
• No disqualifying criminal history.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Assist Individuals with activities of daily living to ensure proper care.
• Implement strategy outcomes for all Individuals.
• Document strategy outcomes and any issues.
• Provide input to DT Administrator and Interdisciplinary Team.
• Incorporate repositioning, toileting, and self-care into daily routine.
• Request materials necessary to complete strategy outcomes.
• Engage Individuals in activities at all times.
• Assist in transition duties and safe transport.
• Participate in evacuation and emergency procedures.
• Attend in-services, training sessions, and department meetings.
• Adhere to policies and protect rights and confidentiality.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
