Job summary

PossAbility, LLC is hiring a Direct Support Professional (DSP) in Illinois to assist individuals with diverse abilities to live independently and enjoy a good quality of life. DSPs provide daily living support, emotional encouragement, and advocacy while upholding dignity and person-centered care.

Qualified applicants will have a high school diploma or GED, active DSP training (HCWR) and CPR/First Aid certification, and at least one year of direct care experience with IDD/TBI.

Qualifications

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills are required to support clients.
• Experience with IDD/TBI and in-home care is preferred.
• Must have DSP training (HCWR) and CPR/First Aid certification.

Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on assistance with ADLs/IADLs while preserving client dignity.
• Support community involvement, social inclusion and independence.
• Document services, health status and progress; maintain HIPAA compliance.
• Report changes or incidents promptly to supervisors per policy.
