New Horizons in Autism (NHIA) is seeking a Direct Support Professional to assist adults with autism in a residential home in New Jersey. You will help residents build independence, confidence, and life skills while ensuring health, safety, and well‑being.

The role involves direct care, documentation, and transportation support, with comprehensive on‑the‑job training provided. Flexible in‑person interviews are available, with a focus on compassionate, patient care in a nonprofit setting.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Must be at least 20 years of age.
• New Jersey driver’s license (valid, non‑probationary).
• Able to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
• Able to interact professionally with individuals with autism.
• Must complete pre‑employment requirements: Central Registry, CARI, DMV Check, Drug Screening, Physical Exam, PPD Testing.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct care and supervision in a residential home.
• Assist with personal care and daily living activities.
• Administer and document medications.
• Teach independent living and life skills.
• Provide transportation to appointments and community activities.
• Complete required documentation accurately and professionally.
• Support day‑to‑day operation of the residence.
