Job summary

New Horizons in Autism, Inc. seeks a dedicated Direct Support Professional (DSP) to support adults with autism in a residential setting in New Jersey. You will provide direct care, assist with daily living activities, document care, and help residents build independence and life skills while ensuring health and safety.

Starting pay is $19.00 per hour. We offer comprehensive training, paid time off, and a strong commitment to employee growth and nonprofit values.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED or higher
• Must be at least 20 years of age
• Valid, non‑probationary New Jersey driver's license
• Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing
• Ability to interact professionally and respectfully with individuals with autism
• Must complete pre‑employment requirements: Central Registry, CARI, DMV Check, Drug Screening, Physical Examination, PPD Testing

Responsibilities

• Providing direct care and supervision in a residential home
• Assisting with personal care and daily living activities
• Administering and documenting medications
• Teaching and reinforcing independent living and life skills
• Providing transportation to appointments and community activities
• Completing required documentation accurately and professionally
• Supporting the overall day-to-day operation of the residence
