Job summary

New Horizons in Autism, Inc. seeks a Direct Support Professional to assist adults with autism in a residential home in New Jersey. You’ll provide direct care, support independence, monitor health and safety, and document daily activities to ensure quality of life.

You’ll join a nonprofit with a long-standing mission since 1980, receive hands-on training, and opportunities for growth. Starting pay is $19.00 per hour, with benefits and a supportive team.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED, or higher; transcripts may be required.
• Must be at least 20 years old.
• Valid New Jersey driver's license (non-probationary).
• Effective verbal and written communication.
• Must successfully complete pre-employment requirements (CR, CARI, DMV check, drug screen, physical, PPD).

Responsibilities

• Providing direct care and supervision in a residential home
• Assisting with personal care and daily living activities
• Administering and documenting medications
• Teaching and reinforcing independent living and life skills
• Providing transportation to appointments and community activities
• Completing required documentation accurately and professionally
• Supporting the overall day-to-day operation of the residence
