Job summary

New Horizons in Autism, Inc. is seeking a Direct Support Professional to assist adults with autism in a residential setting. You will supervise daily activities, support personal care, and document medications while promoting independence and well-being. A patient, compassionate, and reliable attitude is essential.

Starting pay is $19.00 per hour. The role offers training, benefits, and opportunities for growth within a nonprofit organization dedicated to person-centered services.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED, or higher degree (diploma or transcripts required).
• Must be at least 20 years of age.
• Valid, non‑probationary New Jersey driver's license.
• Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
• Ability to interact professionally and respectfully with individuals with autism.
• Must successfully complete all pre‑employment requirements, including: Central Registry, CARI, DMV Check, Drug Screening, Physical Examination, PPD Testing.

Responsibilities

• Providing direct care and supervision in a residential home.
• Assisting with personal care and daily living activities.
• Administering and documenting medications.
• Teaching and reinforcing independent living and life skills.
• Providing transportation to appointments and community activities.
• Completing required documentation accurately and professionally.
• Supporting the overall day-to-day operation of the residence.
