Job summary

New Horizons in Autism, Inc. (NHIA) seeks a Direct Support Professional (DSP) for a residential program in New Jersey. You will support adults with autism, assist with daily living activities, ensure safety, and document care. Training is provided and opportunities for growth exist within the nonprofit organization.

Starting pay is $19.00 per hour, with comprehensive benefits and paid training. The role emphasizes compassion, reliability, and strong communication in a supportive team environment.

Qualifications

• Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
• Must be patient, reliable, and committed to making a difference.
• Must complete all pre-employment requirements (CR, CARI, DMV check, drug screening, medical exams, PPD).

Responsibilities

• Provide direct care and supervision in a residential home.
• Assist with personal care and daily living activities.
• Administer and document medications.
• Teach independent living and life skills.
• Provide transportation to appointments and community activities.
• Complete required documentation accurately and professionally.
• Support day-to-day operation of the residence.
