Job summary

Saint Joseph’s Center in Swoyersville is seeking a Direct Support Professional to help residents with daily activities, personal care, and social engagement. This part-time role focuses on safety, respect, and compassionate care in a home-like setting.

You will assist with routines, follow care plans, document progress, and participate in team meetings to support residents’ wellbeing.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Must be 18 years or older.
• Valid Pennsylvania Driver’s License (required for some shifts).
• Able to lift up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Work under the direction of the Unit Manager, LPN, and other supervisors.
• Assist residents with personal care including bathing, dressing, grooming, and hygiene needs.
• Assist with meals and feeding according to each resident’s diet and doctor’s orders.
• Take vital signs or health-related tasks you are trained to do; report changes to the nurse.
• Keep rooms and common areas clean, safe, and well-organized.
• Follow each resident’s care plan and help them reach goals and participate in activities.
• Support behavior plans and encourage positive interactions.
• Write clear notes about care, goals, and daily events; join team meetings and training.

The Direct Support Professional helps care for and support residents with their daily needs. You’ll help them with personal care, daily routines, and activities in and out of the home. You’ll also follow each person’s care plan, record important information, and make sure everyone stays safe, comfortable, and respected. This part time position is for our Swoyersville location.

What you'll do:
