Job summary

New Communities Inc in Boothbay Harbor, ME seeks a Direct Support Professional (DSP) to provide direct care for adults with intellectual disabilities and/or autism. You will act as a role model, assist with personal care, administer medications, and encourage independence in daily living and community activities.

This full-time role includes paid training, tuition reimbursement, and a benefits package. Day, evening, and overnight shifts are available with per diem options as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Active driver’s license required.
• Experience in direct care is preferred but not required; training will be provided.
• Must be able to communicate effectively with residents and coworkers whose primary language is English.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct care support to adults with intellectual disabilities and/or autism.
• Model positive behavior and promote independence.
• Assist with personal care and medication administration as required.
• Support clients in home and community activities and transportation.
