Job summary

New Communities, Inc. is seeking Direct Support Professionals (DSP) to join our Boothbay Harbor residential program. You will provide direct care and support to adults with intellectual disabilities and/or autism, acting as a positive role model and assisting with daily activities.

We offer paid training, tuition reimbursement, and a comprehensive benefits package. This is a full-time or per diem role with shifts that include day, evening, and overnight coverage, and opportunities to grow within

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Must be 18 years or older.
• Active driver’s license required.
• Experience in direct care is preferred but not required; training will be provided.
• Must communicate effectively in English.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct care support to adults with intellectual disabilities and/or autism.
• Act as a role model and administer medications as trained.
• Assist with personal care and promote client independence.
• Support recreation, outings, and community activities using company vehicles.

Full‑time and part‑time positions available. Pay rate depends on position, shift, certifications, and experience, ranging from $18.10 - $20.60/hr. Hiring immediately!

Responsibilities

As a Direct Support Professional (DSP) at our residential program located in Boothbay Harbor, ME, you will provide direct care support to adults with intellectual disabilities and/or autism. Your responsibilities include acting as a role model, administering medication, assisting with personal care, and inspiring clients to be as independent as possible both at home and in the community. You will also attend and actively promote recreational, social outings, and activities for our clients, using New Communities company vehicles for client transportation.

Schedule & Shift Options

Flexible per diem/relief DSP direct care positions available in Boothbay Harbor, Maine. Day, evening, and overnight shifts available. Per diem shifts include coverage for all shifts, especially overnight and weekend.
