Job summary

The Groden Network in Dighton, MA, is hiring a part-time Direct Support Professional (DSP) for Halcyon Res. You will provide hands-on, person-centered care to five female residents with autism and developmental disabilities in a residential setting.

Openings include overnight shifts; a $1,000 sign-on bonus (pro-rated for PT). Requirements: HS diploma or GED, English proficiency, minimum 1 year experience preferred, valid driver’s license with insured vehicle, ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year experience preferred with individuals who have autism and developmental disabilities, but training will be provided.
• High School diploma or GED equivalent.
• Must be able to read, write and speak English proficiently.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical tasks.
• Valid driver’s license for at least 3 years with a registered and insured vehicle.
• First Aid/CPR Certification; MAP Certification for medication administration; Safety Care Certification (training provided).

Responsibilities

• Provide supervision and support to clients in a residential group home setting.
• Deliver hands-on, person-centered care and assist with daily living tasks.
• Collaborate with Residential Manager and team to support five female residents.
• Assist with documentation and reporting of client progress.

Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) help provide supervision and support to clients in our residential group home setting. Education, Experience and Skills Needed

• Minimum of 1 year of experiencepreferred working with individuals who have autism and developmental disabilities,but we will train a good candidate for the role!
• High School diploma or G.E.D. Equivalent
• Must be able to read, write, and speak in English proficiently
• Ability to speak, see & hear clearly/audibly, as well as write legibly for documentation
• Basic computer skills
• Professional and respectful communication skills with clients and their families or other parties
• Ability to intervene with clients when needed to implement behavioral inventions including physical restraint, lifting and transporting in personal vehicle or company van
• General responsibilities as assigned such as house cleaning, assistance with toileting/showering, job coaching, role modeling, etc.
• Ability to sit, stand, lift up to 50 pounds, walk, bend, reach and/or move regularly
• Valid driver's license for at least 3 years, with a registered and insured vehicle
• First Aid/CPR Certification (We provide training if needed)
