Job summary

Halcyon Residential is seeking Direct Support Professionals to provide hands-on, person-centered care in a residential setting in Attleboro, MA. You will work with adults with autism and developmental disabilities, supporting daily living activities and behavior management under a supportive team.

Positions are sub/relief/per diem with available shifts across multiple locales. The role requires a minimum of 1 year experience and a HS diploma, with pay at $22/hour plus benefits and training

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year experience with autism and developmental disabilities; 3+ years preferred.
• Must work a minimum of 2 shifts per month to stay active.
• High School diploma or GED equivalent.
• Proficient reading, writing and spoken English.
• Able to read, write and document clearly; basic computer skills.
• Professional communication with clients and families.

Responsibilities

• Provide supervision and support to residents in a residential group home.
• Deliver hands-on, person-centered care and support.
• Collaborate with team including Residential Manager and other DSPs.
• Assist with house cleaning, toileting/showering and job coaching as needed.
• Intervene with clients when necessary to implement behavioral plans.

DSPs/Residential Behavior Specialists work with a supportive team that includes the Residential Manager, Assistant Residential Manager, other DSPs and more to support residents in our home.

Education, Experience and Skills Needed:

• Minimum of 1 year of experience required working with individuals who have autism and developmental disabilities; 3+ years of experience preferred


• Minimum work requirement: MUST work a minimum of 2 shifts per month to stay active


• High School diploma or G.E.D. Equivalent


• Must be able to read, write, and speak in English proficiently


• Ability to speak, see & hear clearly/audibly, as well as write legibly for documentation


• Basic computer skills


• Professional and respectful communication skills with clients and their families or other parties


• Ability to intervene with clients when needed to implement behavioral inventions including physical restraint, lifting and transporting in personal vehicle or company van


• General responsibilities as assigned such as house cleaning, assistance with toileting/showering, job coaching, role modeling, etc.


• Ability to sit, stand, lift up to 50 pounds, walk, bend, reach and/or move regularly


• Valid driver's license for at least 3 years, with a registered and insured vehicle


• First Aid/CPR Certification (We provide training if needed)
