Job summary

Open Arms Care is seeking a Direct Support Professional (DSP) to support children and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities, focusing on independence and daily living skills. You will build meaningful relationships, assist with personal care, meals, mobility, and accompany individuals to appointments and community activities.

The role emphasizes lifting up to 50 lbs, background checks, drug screening, and required CPR/PCM certifications.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Valid driver's license.
• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• CPR certification within 30 days and PCM certification within 60 days (training provided).
• Background check and drug screening required.

Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on support with personal care, meals, mobility, and daily living activities.
• Teach independence and life skills.
• Coach, mentor, and advocate for the individuals we support.
• Create a safe, positive, and welcoming home environment.
• Transport individuals to appointments, community activities, and outings.
• Document progress and work closely with a supportive team.

Salary Information

$15.5 - $17.5Hourly Wage
