Job summary

Abound Health is hiring Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to provide caregiving and daily living support for individuals with IDD in Selma, NC. The role involves assisting with ADLs, community participation, and behavioral support to help clients live independently.

Starting pay is $18.00 per hour for part-time schedules in the Selma area. Paid onboarding and training provided, with weekly pay and opportunities for advancement within a mission-driven, over-20-year-old organization.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older.
• High school diploma/GED (or equivalent).
• Valid driver’s license, current auto insurance, and reliable transportation.
• Ability to pass criminal record, driving record, and healthcare registry checks.
• Experience with disabilities not required; paid training provided.

Responsibilities

• Build positive relationships and support individuals in achieving personal goals.
• Assist with daily living activities such as meal preparation, hygiene, and household tasks.
• Support individuals in community participation, employment, and social activities.
• Use adaptive tools to aid learning and facilitate communication.
• Encourage independence and help individuals develop new skills.
• Monitor health and safety while maintaining a supportive environment.
• Communicate with Abound team members, families, and external parties as needed.
• Complete documentation and maintain schedules.
• Participate in ongoing training and professional development.
• Offer flexible schedules (full-time and part-time).
