Job summary

Abound Health in Durham, NC seeks Direct Support Professionals (DSP) to provide hands-on caregiving and daily living support for individuals with IDD. You’ll help with ADLs, community participation, and behavioral support to promote independence.

Starting pay ranges from $15.40 to $17 per hour with a $1,000 signing bonus. We offer paid onboarding, weekly pay, flexible full-time and part-time schedules, and opportunities for advancement within a mission-driven team.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older.
• Valid driver’s license with current auto insurance.
• Ability to pass criminal background checks and healthcare registry checks.
• Willingness to address personal care needs when necessary.
• Reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Build positive relationships and support individuals in achieving personal goals.
• Assist with daily living activities such as meal preparation, hygiene, and household tasks.
• Support individuals in community participation, employment, and social activities.
• Use adaptive tools to aid learning and facilitate communication.
• Encourage independence and help individuals develop new skills.
• Monitor health and safety while maintaining a supportive environment.
• Communicate with Abound team members, families, and external parties as needed.
• Complete documentation and maintaining schedules.
• Complete ongoing training and professional development.
