Job summary

Abound Health in Southport, NC is hiring Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to provide caregiving and daily living support for individuals with IDD. The role involves helping with ADLs, community participation, and behavioral support, with paid training and growth opportunities.

Starting pay is $16–$17 per hour with a $1,000 signing bonus. Benefits include weekly pay, flexible schedules, and opportunities for advancement within a team-focused environment.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older.
• Valid driver’s license, current auto insurance, and reliable transportation.
• Ability to pass criminal record, driving record, and healthcare registry checks
• Willingness to address personal care needs when necessary
• Lifting may be required, depending on client needs
• Experience working with individuals with disabilities is not required – we provide paid training and support

Responsibilities

• Build positive relationships and support individuals in achieving personal goals
• Assist with daily living activities such as meal preparation, hygiene, and household tasks
• Support individuals in community participation, employment, and social activities
• Use adaptive tools to aid learning and facilitate communication
• Encourage independence and help individuals develop new skills
• Monitor health and safety while maintaining a supportive environment
• Communicate with Abound team members, families, and external parties (case managers, etc.) as needed
• Complete documentation and maintaining schedules
• Complete ongoing training and professional development
• Flexible schedules (full‑time and part‑time opportunities)
