Job summary

Dungarvin inc in Minnesota is looking for a Direct Support Professional (DSP) to empower individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities to live as independently as possible. You’ll provide direct care, assist with daily living activities, monitor wellbeing, and document progress in ISP plans.

This role supports a compassionate team in a mission-driven environment with opportunities for growth.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older.
• Valid driver's license and proof of auto insurance.
• Basic computer skills for documentation and communication.
• Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
• Willingness to assist individuals with ADLs.
• Physical ability to stand, walk, bend or squat; lift up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
• Assist with activities of daily living, housekeeping, errands, and meal prep.
• Maintain a clean, safe living environment and promote independence.
• Support ISPs goals, document progress, and communicate changes to the team.
• Transport individuals to appointments and community activities when needed.
• Complete accurate electronic documentation in accordance with requirements.

Job Description

• Provide direct support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, including those with potential behavioral support needs.
• Assist with activities of daily living, household cleaning, meal preparation, shopping, budgeting, personal goals, appointments, community activities, and engagement.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and supportive living environment.
• Promote independence, personal choice, and life skills development.
• Support individuals in achieving goals and objectives outlined in their Individual Service Plans (ISPs) and document progress accordingly.
• Observe and communicate changes, concerns, and progress to supervisors and team members.
• Transport individuals to appointments, activities, and community outings as needed.
• Complete accurate and timely electronic documentation in accordance with program and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

Required (Must-Have)

• Minimum of 18 years of age
• Valid driver's license and proof of auto insurance
• Basic computer skills for documentation and communication
• Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English
• Willingness toassistindividuals with personal cares and activities of daily living (ADLs)

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand, walk, bend, or squat for extended periods
• Ability to lift upto 50lbs
