Job summary

Dungarvin inc is hiring a Direct Support Professional to provide direct day-to-day assistance to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in Minnesota. The role focuses on promoting independence, safety, and person-centered supports within a supportive team.

You will assist with daily living activities, accompany clients to appointments, and maintain documentation, while benefiting from training, paid orientation, and mileage reimbursement for travel.

Qualifications

• Minimum 18 years of age
• Valid driver's license and proof of auto insurance
• Basic computer skills for documentation and communication
• Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English
• Willingness to assist individuals with personal cares and activities of daily living (ADLs)

Responsibilities

• Provide direct support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities
• Assist with activities of daily living, household tasks, meal prep, shopping, budgeting, appointments, and community activities
• Maintain a clean, safe, and supportive living environment
• Promote independence, personal choice, and life skills development
• Support individuals in achieving ISP goals and document progress
• Observe and communicate changes, concerns, and progress to supervisors and team members
• Transport individuals to appointments and community outings as needed
• Complete accurate and timely electronic documentation per program and regulatory requirements

Job Description

• Provide direct support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, including those with potential behavioral support needs.
• Assistwith activities of daily living, household cleaning, meal preparation, shopping, budgeting, personal goals, appointments, community activities, and engagement.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and supportive living environment.
• Promote independence, personal choice, and life skills development.
• Support individuals in achieving goals andobjectivesoutlined in their Individual Service Plans (ISPs) and document progress accordingly.
• Observe and communicate changes, concerns, and progress to supervisors and team members.
• Transport individuals to appointments, activities, and community outings as needed.
• Completeaccurateandtimelyelectronic documentationin accordance withprogram and regulatory requirements.
