Job summary

The Center for Developmental Disabilities, Inc. is seeking a Direct Support Professional to support children and adults with differing abilities in community-based programs.

This role offers a sign-on bonus of $1,000 and an hourly compensation range from $20.00 to $22.25, with total compensation enhanced by rate differentials depending on the role and shift. The DSP will work on a schedule including Sunday 7am, 3pm- Monday, 3pm-Thursday, and 11pm shifts, and will participate in trainings and

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• AMAP and SCIP certification required per policy.
• Ability to stand, bend and lift up to 50 lbs.
• Valid NYS Driver's License required.

Responsibilities

• Provide consistent support to individuals at the site.
• Advocate for those supported.
• Participate in trainings to better understand and support individuals.
• Work as part of a team to achieve mutual goals.

Job Responsibilities:

• It is the responsibility of the DSP to ensure that all individuals at their site receive support that is consistent.
• It is the responsibility of the DSP to advocate for those they support.
• It is the responsibility of the DSP to participate in trainings that will help them better understand and support those they work with.
• It is the responsibility of the DSP to work as part of a team at their site(s) to ensure the best support for individuals and to achieve mutual goals.

Job Qualifications:

• High School Diploma/GED.
• Complete and maintain AMAP and SCIP certification, as per CDD policy.
• Able to stand and bend throughout the day.
• Able to sit for an extended period of time.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs.
• Valid NYS Driver's License.
