Job summary

Mt. Washington Pediatric Hospital in Huntington, NY is seeking a Direct Support Professional (DSP) to provide consistent support for individuals with differing abilities. The position offers a sign-on bonus of $1,000 and hourly pay from $20 to $22, with total compensation depending on role and shift.

Schedule: Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Monday, 3pm–11pm. You will work with a dedicated team, participate in trainings, and advocate for those you support in a community-based setting.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED.
• AMAP and SCIP certification required.
• Able to stand and bend throughout the day.
• Able to sit for an extended period of time.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs.
• Valid NYS Driver’s License.

Responsibilities

• It is the responsibility of the DSP to ensure that all individuals at their site receive support that is consistent.
• It is the responsibility of the DSP to advocate for those they support.
• It is the responsibility of the DSP to participate in trainings that will help them better understand and support those they work with.
• It is the responsibility of the DSP to work as part of a team at their site(s) to ensure the best support for individuals and to achieve mutual goals.

This position is eligible for rate differentials, with total hourly compensation starting at $20/hour and reaching up to $22.00/hour (depending on role & shift).
