Job summary

Mt. Washington Pediatric Hospital is seeking a Direct Support Professional to provide consistent support to individuals with varying abilities. The role includes advocacy, participating in trainings, and collaborating with site teams to reach mutual goals.

The position requires a High School Diploma or GED, AMAP/SCIP certifications, and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs. A NYS driver's license is required; the schedule is Tue-Sat, 3pm–11pm, with a pay rate starting at $20.00 per hour.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED.
• Complete and maintain AMAP and SCIP certification, as per CDD policy.
• Able to stand and bend throughout the day.
• Able to sit for an extended period of time.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs.
• Valid NYS Driver’s License.

Responsibilities

• It is the responsibility of the DSP to ensure that all individuals at their site receive support that is consistent.
• It is the responsibility of the DSP to advocate for those they support.
• It is the responsibility of the DSP to participate in trainings that will help them better understand and support those they work with.
• It is the responsibility of the DSP to work as part of a team at their site(s) to ensure the best support for individuals and to achieve mutual goals.

This position is eligible for rate differentials, with total hourly compensation starting at $20/hour and reaching up to $22.00/hour (depending on role & shift).
