Job summary

Benchmark Human Services seeks Direct Support Professionals to join our Helena team, supporting individuals with disabilities in group homes and day programs. A sign-on bonus of up to $1,000 is offered to new team members.

Responsibilities include creating a supportive home environment, implementing ISPs and BSPs, and assisting with daily activities and transportation as needed. Background checks are part of the hiring process.

• Valid driver''s license and auto insurance preferred for Group Homes.
• Reliable transportation required.

Responsibilities

• Protect and honor the rights of people with disabilities.
• Create a supportive and clean home environment.
• Support skill acquisition and ISPs.
• Participate in the development and positive implementation of ISPs.
• Implement Behavior Support Plans and replacement behavior trials consistently.
• Provide positive behavioral supports and reinforcement for appropriate behavior.
• Assist individuals in planning and participating in community activities.
• Provide transportation to clients for daily activities using a personal vehicle as directed.

Responsibilities Include:

• Protect and honor the rights of people with disabilities.


• Create a supportive and clean home environment.


• Support skill acquisition and enhancement as outlined in individual service plans (ISPs).


• Participate in the development and positive implementation of ISPs.


• Implement Behavior Support Plans, Replacement Behavior Trials and reinforcement plans consistently, continuously and as written across all environments.


• Provide positive behavioral supports according to individual BSPs and provide positive reinforcement when individuals engage in socially appropriate behavior.


• Assist the individuals in planning and participating in community activities on a regular basis.


• Provide transportation to clients for daily activities utilizing personal vehicle as directed.


• Participate in incident debriefing to determine factors leading to behavior and development of appropriate staff interactions


• Model appropriate behavior and interactions with individuals.


• Assist with daily living tasks and ensure cleanliness and organization.


• Administer medications and follow healthcare protocols under nurse supervision.


• Document client progress and goals.


• Engage individuals in age-appropriate recreational and therapeutic activities.

• Collaborate with co-workers to enhance growth.


• Participate in ongoing professional training.


• Other duties as assigned.
