Job summary

Benchmark Human Services is seeking Direct Support Professionals (DSP/CNA/Care Giver/Home Health Aide) to provide 1-on-1 care for individuals with disabilities and mental illness. The role includes on-the-job training to obtain required certifications and emphasizes empowering clients to live independently in the community.

Positions are essential and immediate hiring is occurring across Mercer and Auglaize Counties, with a focus on compassionate, person-centered care and supporting clients'

Qualifications

• Reliable transportation required.
• Valid auto insurance and driver’s license required.
• Paid training to obtain required certifications; no prior experience needed.

Responsibilities

• Protect and honor the rights of people with disabilities.
• Ensure a safe and clean home for people served.
• Develop a positive rapport and serve as a role model to create a caring environment.
• Teach skills to increase independence (eating, cooking, bathing).
• Document data showing the individual’s goals and progression.
• Assist in finding and participating in meaningful community activities.
• Work independently or with coworkers to support growth of individuals served.
• Participate in ongoing professional training.
