Job summary

Benchmark Human Services is seeking Direct Support Professionals to assist individuals with disabilities and mental illness in home, work, and community settings across Mercer and Auglaize Counties in Ohio. Paid training will help you obtain required certifications; no prior experience is necessary. Positions are essential and fill quickly.

We offer 1-on-1 care, mentorship, and opportunities to engage clients in activities and events, helping them live more independently in their communities.

Qualifications

• Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license are required.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• No prior experience needed; on-the-job training and certifications will be provided.

Responsibilities

• Protect the rights of people with disabilities and provide a safe, respectful home environment.
• Build positive rapport and model caring behavior for clients.
• Teach daily living skills to increase client independence (e.g., cooking, bathing).
• Document progress towards individual goals and client milestones.
• Assist clients in finding and participating in meaningful community activities.
• Work independently or with team members to support client growth.
• Participate in ongoing professional training and development.

The Mercer and Auglaize County office is seeking qualified and caring people to work as a Direct Support Professional (DSP/CNA/Care Giver/Home Health Aide). Successful applicants will attend paid training to obtain required certifications. No experience is necessary, learn on-the-job. Responsibilities Include:

• Protect and honor the rights of people with disabilities
• Ensuring a safe and clean home for people served
• Develop a positive rapport while serving as a role model to create a safe and caring environment
• Teach skills to individuals served that increase independence such as eating, cooking and bathing
• Document data displaying the individual served goals and progression
• Assist in finding and participating in meaningful community activities
• Work independent or with co-workers to enhance the growth of individuals served
• Participate in on-going professional training

General Qualifications:
