Job summary

The Arc of Ocean County is seeking an experienced Direct Support Professional (DSP) to join our Residential Services team in a full-time day-shift role. You will support adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities, helping them navigate daily routines, build life skills, and participate more fully in their communities.

Starting pay is $20.70/hour with opportunities to earn up to $22.70/hour through shift differentials and overtime.

Qualifications

• Be at least 18 years of age.
• Have a High School Diploma or GED.
• Have at least one year of prior experience as a Direct Support Professional (DSP).
• Have medical case management experience.
• Hold a valid New Jersey driver's license in good standing, with no more than five points.
• Demonstrate strong communication, teamwork, and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct support to individuals in residential settings and assist with daily living tasks.
• Support personal care, meals, medication, transportation, and household duties.
• Encourage practical skills, healthy habits, and personal responsibility.
• Help individuals progress toward individualized service plan objectives and acknowledge achievements.
• Support participation in recreational and community activities and encourage independent choices.
• Follow medication procedures, maintain safety, and keep records up to date.
• Collaborate with colleagues to deliver dependable, compassionate support and foster growth.
