Job summary

The Arc of Washington County - MD is hiring a Direct Support Professional for Day Services (Day Break) on our main campus in Hagerstown, MD. The role involves assisting with daily activities, coordinating community outings, and documenting progress toward individual goals.

We offer comprehensive benefits, a 403(b) plan, paid training, PTO, and opportunities for growth. The work schedule is Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM, with a starting pay of $19.25 per hour.

Qualifications

• 18+ with HS diploma or GED required.
• Valid U.S. driver’s license with 2+ years of driving experience.
• 1+ year of experience supporting individuals with disabilities.
• Able to pass background check, drug screen, physical, and basic reading/math test.
• Available for 3 weeks of paid training (M-F).

What You’ll Do:

• Support people with daily needs like personal care, hygiene, and meals
• Facilitate fun, meaningful community outings and activities
• Follow care plans and track progress toward individual goals
• Ensure a safe, respectful, and engaging environment
• Communicate and document clearly and timely

Who We’re Looking For:

• 18+ with high school diploma or GED REQUIRED
• Valid U.S. driver’s license with 2+ years of driving experience (not on a permit)
• 1+ year of experience supporting individuals with disabilities
• Ability to pass background check, drug screen, physical, and basic reading/math test
• Available for 3 weeks of paid M-F training (8:30 AM-5:00 PM)
