Job summary

The Arc of Washington County in Hagerstown, MD is hiring Direct Support Professionals to support our Day Break Day Services on our main campus. This full-time, Monday–Friday role starts at $19.25/hour and offers a caring work environment helping individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

You’ll assist with daily needs, accompany clients on outings, follow care plans, document progress, and help create a safe, engaging setting.

Qualifications

• 18+ with high school diploma or GED required.
• Valid U.S. driver's license with 2+ years of driving experience (not on a permit).
• 1+ year of experience supporting individuals with disabilities.
• Ability to pass background check, drug screen, physical, and basic reading/math test.
• Available for 3 weeks of paid M–F training (8:30 AM–5:00 PM).

• Support people with daily needs like personal care, hygiene, and meals.
• Facilitate fun, meaningful community outings and activities.
• Follow care plans and track progress toward individual goals.
• Ensure a safe, respectful, and engaging environment.
• Communicate and document clearly and timely.
