Job summary

The Arc of Carroll County is hiring part-time Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) in Westminster, Maryland. In this role, you will provide essential one-on-one support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

A compassionate and dependable attitude is key, as you will assist individuals with their activities and promote their independence. Shifts primarily include evenings and some daytime hours with competitive pay.

$20.07/hour | Evening Schedule throughout the week, some daytime hours available

The Arc Carroll County is hiring compassionate and dependable Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to provide one-on-one personal supports to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Schedule:

• Urgently hiring for Thursday evenings 3:00PM-8:00PM

Other available shifts-

• Monday-Friday evenings with a 2:00 or 3:00 PM start time - 7:00/8:00PM
• Limited Day time hours are available: Monday-Friday
• Limited Weekend hours

What You’ll Do:

• Provide one-on-one community-based or in-home support
• Provide transportation and support community access
• Create and implement innovative, fun, and meaningful activities tailored to each individual’s interests, goals, and abilities
• Support individuals individually and independently, encouraging choice, creativity, and self-direction through social, recreational, and educational activities
• Encourage independence and decision-making
• Assist with personal care and mobility as needed
• Document services and progress in iCare
• Follow person-centered plans, policies, and state regulations

Pay & Benefits:

• $19.68/hour (Maryland Equal Pay compliant)

• DSP certification program with potential bonuses of $1,000–$1,500 in your first year and annually thereafter

Requirements:

• 18+ years old
• High school diploma or GED
• Valid U.S. driver’s license that has never been suspended or revoked
• Ability to pass background, drug, and driving record checks
• Basic computer and keyboarding skills
• Ability to complete required training courses, including CPR, First Aid, Med Tech Certification, and other DDA-mandated training
• Ability to lift and manipulate up to 50 lbs frequently and assist with transfers
• Ability to stand for extended periods and perform frequent bending, stooping, reaching, pulling, and pushing
• Ability to assist with wheelchair handling, transfers, and securing individuals safely in vehicles

Salary Information

$19.68 - $20.07Hourly Wage
