Job summary

Volunteers of America Chesapeake and Carolinas in Woodbridge, VA is seeking a Direct Support Professional (DSP) to assist individuals in developmental disabilities programs living in VOA homes. The hourly rate is $18.00, and the position is full time with benefits.

The DSP will support daily living, teach independent living skills, and promote safety and community integration, following ISP and VOAC policies, with required trainings and background checks.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• At least 1 year of experience in intellectual/developmental disabilities field.
• Must pass state trainings and background checks.
• Computer skills required for documentation.
• Bilingual ability is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Support individuals to meet ISP-identified needs.
• Assist with daily living activities and meal preparation.
• Promote community integration and safe living.
• Document activities and behaviors.
• Participate in staff meetings and trainings.
• Follow VOAC policies and safety procedures.
