Job summary

Volunteers of America Chesapeake & Carolinas seeks Direct Support Professionals to assist people enrolled in VOAC programs and living in VOAC homes. DSPs teach independent living skills and help with daily activities to promote safety and well-being.

Some DSPs may hold a TME license and, under RN supervision, administer medications. A strong English proficiency and basic computer skills are required for communication and documentation.

Qualifications

• Be able to read, write, and speak the English language and communicate with people served
• Perform basic computer skills
• Be at least twenty-one (21) years of age

Responsibilities

• Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) support activities of people enrolled in VOAC programs and homes
• DSPs teach independent living skills and assist with activities of daily living
• DSPs who are trained medication employees (TME) may administer medications under RN direction
