Job summary

The Charles Lea Center in the Washington, NC area is seeking Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to help people with disabilities live independent, meaningful lives. As a DSP, you’ll provide in-home and community support, assisting with daily living skills, safety, and dignity.

Ideal candidates are 18+, have a high school diploma or equivalent, 2–4 years of related experience, and a valid driver’s license. Competitive pay is $18.03/hour with paid training, benefits, and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• 2–4 years of relevant experience preferred (DSP, CNA, PCA, RBT, Med Tech, Caregiver).
• Ability to pass required background and reference checks.

Aboutthe Role:

As a DSP, you’ll work in a residential setting, in the client's home, supporting individuals with disabilities in their daily lives. Your responsibilities may include:

• Assist with daily living skills, grooming, meals, personal care, and medication administration.
• Support individuals in activities, community outings, and skill-building.
• Promoting independence and dignity in every interaction
• Document daily notes, training steps, and updates in Therap.
• Communicate important information to supervisors and team members.

1st Shift Availability Required

• Monday–Friday: 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM

What You’ll Need:

• Minimum age: 18
• High school diploma or equivalent
• 2–4 years of relevant experience preferred (DSP, CNA, PCA, RBT, Med Tech, Caregiver)
• Valid driver’s license and Social Security number
• Basic computer and documentation skills
• Ability to pass required background and reference checks

Work Location Flexibility:

While this position is assigned to client homes living in our Washington, NC locations, All Direct Support Professionals may be required to work at other Charles Lea Center sites as needed based on staffing and operational needs.

Physical Requirements:
