Job summary

Easterseals PORT Health in Wilmington, NC is seeking a Direct Support Professional for part-time work in the Individual and Community Services team. You will support individuals in their homes and communities, helping them build independence and meaningful daily activities.

You’ll document daily activities in an electronic format, coordinate with families to set goals, and collaborate with the care team to promote safety, dignity, and personal development.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Valid North Carolina Driver’s license and reliable transportation are required.
• Experience working with individuals with disabilities is preferred, but not required.

What You’ll Do

• Support the consumer with personal care needs and companionship
• Document daily activities and goals met in an electronic format
• Coordinate and collaborate with the family of the consumer to work on goals that promote independence, socialization and overall personal development

What You Bring

We’re looking for someone who brings the experience, skills, and commitment needed to succeed in this role.

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Valid North Carolina Driver’s license, reliable transportation and vehicle insurance required
• Experience working with individuals with disabilities preferred, but not required.
• Interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and dependability are a must!
