Job summary

Easterseals PORT Health is seeking a Direct Support Professional to join our Individual and Community Services team in Wilmington, NC. This part-time role involves on-site work, day shifts, and travel within the local community to support the consumers we serve.

You will build meaningful connections, assist with personal care, and help individuals pursue independence and personal goals. A high school diploma and a valid NC driver’s license are required; experience with disabilities is preferred

• Interpersonal skills and dependability are essential.

What You’ll Do

• Support the consumer with personal care needs and companionship
• Document daily activities and goals met in an electronic format
• Coordinate and collaborate with the family of the consumer to work on goals that promote independence, socialization and overall personal development

What You Bring

We’re looking for someone who brings the experience, skills, and commitment needed to succeed in this role.

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Valid North Carolina Driver’s license, reliable transportation and vehicle insurance required
• Experience working with individuals with disabilities preferred, but not required.
• Interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and dependability are a must!
