Job summary

Easterseals PORT Health in Clayton, NC is seeking a Direct Support Professional to join our Individual and Community Services team. This part-time role focuses on building meaningful connections with individuals we support daily, in homes and local communities, to promote independence and personal growth.

You will document daily activities in an electronic system and collaborate with families to set goals that fit each person’s needs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Valid NC driver's license and reliable transportation required.
• Experience with individuals with disabilities preferred but not required.
• Interpersonal skills and dependability a must.

Work Setting: On-site, in home and travel within the local community to meet the needs of the consumer you would be supporting

What You’ll Do

• Support the consumer with personal care needs and companionship
• Document daily activities and goals met in an electronic format
• Coordinate and collaborate with the family of the consumer to work on goals that promote independence, socialization and overall personal development

What You Bring

We're looking for someone who brings the experience, skills, and commitment needed to succeed in this role.

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Valid North Carolina Driver's license, reliable transportation and vehicle insurance required
• Experience working with individuals with disabilities preferred, but not required.
• Interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and dependability are a must!
