Job summary

Easterseals PORT Health seeks a Direct Support Professional in Winterville, NC and surrounding areas. You will work afternoons/evenings and after-school, on-site and in-home, supporting individuals with disabilities to build independence and meaningful daily experiences.

Responsibilities include personal care, structured routines, documenting progress, and collaborating with families to reach goals in the community. A high school diploma and NC driver’s license are required.

Position Snapshot

Schedule: Part-time | Afternoons/evenings and after-school schedules

Pay: $15/hour

Work Setting: On-site, in home and travel within the local community to meet the needs of the consumer you would be supporting

As a Direct Support Professional, you'll have the opportunity to build meaningful connections with the individuals you support every day. We work with people of all ages and abilities and carefully match each consumer with team members whose skills, personality, and interests are the best fit. What You’ll Do

• Support the consumer with personal care needs and companionship
• Create routines, celebrate successes big and small, and empower the people we serve to live their best lives
• Document daily activities and goals met in an electronic format
• Coordinate and collaborate with the family of the consumer to work on goals that promote independence, socialization and overall personal development

What You Bring

We’re looking for someone who brings the experience, skills, and commitment needed to succeed in this role.

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Valid North Carolina Driver’s license, reliable transportation and vehicle insurance required
• Experience working with individuals with disabilities preferred, but not required.
• Interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and dependability are a must!
