Job summary

Easterseals PORT Health in Chapel Hill, NC seeks a Direct Support Professional to join our Individual and Community Services team. You will provide personal care and companionship, helping individuals build independence and meaningful daily experiences in their homes and communities.

Work is part-time, on-site with local travel. The role offers weekday and weekend shifts, a supportive environment, and opportunities to make a positive community impact.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Valid North Carolina driver's license and reliable transportation.
• Experience with individuals with disabilities preferred but not required.
• Excellent interpersonal skills, attention to detail and dependability.

Responsibilities

What You’ll Do

• Support the consumer with personal care needs and companionship
• Document daily activities and goals met in an electronic format
• Coordinate and collaborate with the family of the consumer to work on goals that promote independence, socialization and overall personal development

What You Bring

We’re looking for someone who brings the experience, skills, and commitment needed to succeed in this role.

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Valid North Carolina Driver’s license, reliable transportation and vehicle insurance required
• Experience working with individuals with disabilities preferred, but not required.
• Interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and dependability are a must!
