Job summary

Sevita’s Mentor Community Services in Washington, PA seeks a Direct Support Professional for IDD services. This part‑time role supports individuals in community settings during PT Evening shifts, helping them engage in activities and reach personal goals.

You’ll build meaningful relationships, assist with daily living tasks, and collaborate with a caring team to ensure wellbeing and safety. Training is provided; growth opportunities exist within Sevita’s nationwide network.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Six months of experience in human services, direct care, or care coordination preferred.
• Valid driver’s license with at least one year of driving experience.
• Access to a registered vehicle with proof of insurance (for some duties).

Responsibilities

• Develop real, meaningful relationships with individuals served.
• Help participants engage in community activities and enjoy their pastimes.
• Support participants with budgeting, exercise, nutrition, and personal hygiene goals.
• Assist individuals with behavioral challenges and other complex needs.
• Collaborate with leaders to support participants’ well‑being.

Responsibilities

• Develop real, meaningful relationships with individuals served
• Take initiative to help participants engage in community activities and enjoy their favorite pastimes
• Support participants with developmental goals such as budgeting, exercise, nutrition, and personal hygiene
• Assist individuals who may have behavioral challenges and other complex needs
• Work closely with leaders to perform duties that support participants’ well‑being

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Six months of experience in human services, direct care, or care coordination preferred
• Communication, adaptability, multi‑tasking, teamwork, and time‑management skills
• Patient, compassionate, reliable, and responsible behaviors
• Valid driver’s license with at least one year of driving experience
