Resources for Human Development (RHD) is hiring a Direct Support Professional in North Branford, CT. The full-time role supports individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in home and community settings.

You will provide daily living assistance, coordinate activities, and help clients achieve personal goals with MAP-certified medication support where needed. Training and supportive supervision are provided.

Competenze

• High School Diploma or GED required for employment.
• Valid Connecticut driver's license may be required.
• Ability to pass background screenings, including FBI where applicable.

Mansioni

• Provide supervision and support in accordance with each individual's ISP.
• Assist individuals in working toward personal goals and outcomes.
• Support activities of daily living including meals, hygiene, and household tasks.
• Provide transportation to appointments and community activities as needed.
• Assist individuals in accessing community resources and supports.
• Administer or assist with medications per MAP certification requirements.
• Complete required documentation and reports accurately and timely.
• Collaborate with clinical and program staff to support quality services.
• Promote healthy, safe, and socially appropriate behaviors.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

What You'll Do

Qualifications

Required

• High School Diploma or GED
• Ability to provide proof of education
• ValidConnecticut driver's license
• Ability to pass all required background screenings, including FBI clearance when applicable

Preferred

• Associate's or Bachelor's Degree
• Prior experience in human services, healthcare, or caregiving roles working with individuals with autism
• Ability to obtain MAP certification

Schedule

• Full Time (40 hrs per week)
• Shifts available across residential programs in Connecticut regions
• Opportunities available in Trumbull, North Branford, & Oxford

Physical Requirements

• Ability to assist individuals with activities of daily living
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift as needed during routine job duties
• Ability to safely transport and accompany individuals in the community
• Ability to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation
